Hosting & server logs
This website is operated on servers within the European Union (hosting partner: visualy, Austria). When you visit the website, technical access data is processed automatically (IP address, date and time, page accessed, browser type). These server logs serve solely to ensure trouble-free operation and to defend against attacks (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) and are deleted after a short period.
Contacting us
If you contact us by email or phone, we process your details to handle the request and in case of follow-up questions. We do not pass this data on without your consent (Art. 6(1)(b) or (f) GDPR).
Online table reservation
For online reservations we process the data you enter in the form: name, email address, phone number, date and time, party size and, optionally, occasion and notes. Processing is carried out to complete your reservation, i.e. to perform pre-contractual or contractual measures (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). The data is processed in our reservation system, which is operated on servers within the European Union (processor: visualy, Austria). It is stored only as long as necessary for handling the reservation and for statutory retention obligations. For convenience, your name, email address and phone number may be stored locally in your browser after a reservation (localStorage). This data never leaves your device and can be deleted at any time via the "Clear" function in the reservation form.
Web analytics (Umami)
We use the privacy-friendly web analytics software Umami to evaluate the use of our website statistically (e.g. pages visited, clicks on the reservation). Umami works without cookies, does not create personal profiles and does not store any data that could identify you across devices. The software is self-hosted on servers within the European Union (analytics.visualy.at). The legal basis is our legitimate interest in improving our online presence (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
Cookies & local storage
This website does not set any tracking or advertising cookies. A cookie banner is therefore not required. For technical functionality the website only uses local browser storage: the intro animation is noted once per session (sessionStorage), and optionally your reservation contact details are stored on your device for your next visit (localStorage, see the online table reservation section). This data never leaves your device.
Map & directions
The location map on the contact page loads map tiles from OpenStreetMap; in doing so, your IP address is transmitted to the tile server (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR — interest in an appealing presentation of our location). The "Directions" link opens Google Maps only after you click it; from that point Google's privacy policy applies.
Your rights
In principle, you have the rights to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection. To exercise them, contact: restaurant@bar-osteria-dove.at If you believe that the processing of your data violates data protection law, you can lodge a complaint with the Austrian Data Protection Authority: www.dsb.gv.at
